How to Properly Install the ION ScaleBuster® ？
ION ScaleBuster® is a physical device designed exclusively for inline installation, and must remain moist once activated.
When used correctly, ION ScaleBuster® causes only minimal pressure drop. It is important to ensure that the selected model has a flow rate equal to or greater than the rated flow of the connected water system, but not exceeding the maximum flow rate indicated in the product specifications.
Due to its symmetrical design, water flow can enter the device from either end.
The model and size of the ION ScaleBuster® should be selected based on the maximum required flow rate of the installation system. For residential users, the appropriate model is generally selected based on the size of the water meter.
Note:
If you plan to use ION ScaleBuster® for industrial water systems or groundwell water applications, it is recommended to consult an authorized distributor or technical representative and provide a water quality analysis report for proper assessment. Additionally, water quality and system operating conditions should remain stable during operation to ensure optimal performance and device longevity.

When Installing on Iron, Steel, or Copper Pipes
When installing the ION ScaleBuster® on stainless steel, black iron (mild steel), galvanized steel, or copper piping systems, a section of the pipe must be removed based on the selected model and length of the ION ScaleBuster®. Two compatible fittings should then be properly installed. After that, the ION ScaleBuster® should be fitted in place, and an appropriate grounding wire must be connected to provide electrical bridging.
When Installing on Plastic Piping
When installing the ION ScaleBuster® on plastic piping systems, two metal pipe sections must be added before and after the device. Each metal section should be at least twice the length of the ION ScaleBuster® (recommended length: 30 times the pipe diameter). In this configuration, appropriate grounding wires must also be connected to ensure electrical bridging. Example: If the ION ScaleBuster® unit is 12 cm in length, two metal pipes approximately 24 cm each should be installed—one upstream and one downstream of the device.
When Installing in Flanged Piping Systems
When installing in flanged piping systems, ensure that the orientation and position of the flanges on the pipeline are correct to avoid radial misalignment or structural stress. Use flanges and gaskets that are compatible with the system and appropriate for the actual installation requirements. The grounding wire should be attached to a flange bolt, as demonstrated in the installation video, to ensure proper electrical grounding connection.
Installation Precautions

2. Avoid performing heating-related connection tasks (e.g., welding or soldering) near the ION ScaleBuster®, as heat conduction can damage the internal structure of the device, potentially leading to device failure.
3. The water pressure should not exceed the maximum pressure indicated on the ION ScaleBuster® label:

4. For optimal performance, the water temperature should not exceed 60°C (140°F).
5. Always install grounding bridge wires at both ends of the ION ScaleBuster® and ensure a good grounding connection. If the pipeline is not properly grounded, it must be additionally connected to a physical grounding point.
6. The ION ScaleBuster® is suitable for both potable water and industrial water systems.
